Attendance Office

  • Students are expected to attend school daily. Our attendance policy is based on improving the student’s chances of acceptance in the workplace and helping the student to develop a sense of responsibility, discipline, and good work habits.

We strive to develop a sense of teamwork that fosters dependability and will benefit the workforce and establish a rapport between home and school to encourage regular school attendance. Frequent absences greatly affect students' accumulation of competencies and are greatly discouraged. All regulations related to attendance and tardiness are in effect when students are on co-op, work-site, or clinical assignments.

Additionally, students are responsible for providing verifiable proof of excused absence by a parent/guardian, as required by the Commonwealth of PA, and will be required to do makeup work when absent from school.

Absence Call In Procedures

  • Parents are asked to call the Western Montgomery Career & Technology Center’s attendance office at (610) 489-7272 X 209 or email at attendance@westerncenter.org when a student will be absent or tardy. This protocol will be accepted as a temporary excuse to be followed by a written excuse within three (3) school days.

A student who is absent from school must, upon their return, present a note to the attendance office stating the following:

    - Student Name
    - Date(s) of Absence
    - Reason for Absence
    - Parent/Guardian Signature

The note must be received within three (3) days of the student’s return to school or the absence will be classified as unlawful or unexcused.

DAYS IN WHICH A STUDENT IS TRUANT OR UNEXCUSED WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF ANY RIGHT TO MAKE UP WORK.
