Attendance-related issues (absence notification, vacation forms, excuse notes, questions) should be directed to Mrs. Lisa Berrodin via email at Attendance@WesternCenter.org, by calling 610-489-7272 x209, 

or faxing 610-489-8778.

 

If your student is absent* from WMCTC, please send an email or follow-up with a written note within 3 days of when your student returns to school. This note must include the (1) student’s first and last name, (2) date of absence, and (3) reason for absence. Including your student’s first and last name (not nicknames) will quickly allow processing. If the email or note doesn’t contain these three components, the absence may not be excused.

 

*An in-person student is considered absent from WMCTC when he/she is not physically present in the building.  


If your student is sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them at home!




Guidance Office


Check out the virtual options available through Thaddeus Stevens.

 

Virtual Tours- Walk and talk with a Tour guide. One of our tour guides will take interested students on a virtual walk around our campus.

 

Enrollment 101- These sessions are an admissions presentation conducted via zoom with one of our Admissions Recruiters.

 

Fall Virtual Open House- Scheduled for Saturday November 14, starting at 9am. Registration is required.

REMINDER:   The end of Quarter 1 is less than two weeks away (November 4th).   Be sure to get your assignments submitted.   Don’t forget about your gym and health google assignments, too.




PE and Health Daily Schedule -  The week of October 26 is Week A


If a student does not have a scheduled PE class (Week A or Week B), an assignment is required for completion in Google Classroom.  




Health Science Technology


Level I:

Students are beginning Chapter 4 with Legal and Ethical Issues. They are learning the associated vocabulary and how to apply it to health care.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is the skill we are covering this week and next. The students are learning about standard precautions and when to use PPE. 

Level II/III:

The students are learning about Communication and how to care for patients/residents with communication issues as well as cultural diversity. In addition, the students are learning about Medical Terminology since this is written communication and the abbreviations that go along with Medical Terminology. They are seeing how long of a sentence they can make using only abbreviations and how to translate those sentences. Vital signs are being practiced including Blood Pressure, Temperature, Pulse and Respirations!

November 25, 26, & 27: WMCTC Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday
