Welding (CIP 48.0508)

Welcome

The Welding Program provides students with training in oxy-acetylene cutting shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), carbon arc cutting, oxy-fuel torch cutting, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), welding safety, blueprint reading, properties of metal, metal identification, type and use of electrodes, electrical principles, and welding symbols.  All of these welding processes and cutting techniques are needed to become a welder/fabricator.  Workers in the industry are expected to do these processes with precision while holding the standards established by the American Welding Society.
