Attendance Office
Students are expected to attend school daily. Our attendance policy is based on improving the student’s chances of acceptance in the workplace and helping the student to develop a sense of responsibility, discipline, and good work habits.
We strive to develop a sense of teamwork that fosters dependability and will benefit the workforce and establish a rapport between home and school to encourage regular school attendance. Frequent absences greatly affect students' accumulation of competencies and are greatly discouraged. All regulations related to attendance and tardiness are in effect when students are on co-op, work-site, or clinical assignments.
Additionally, students are responsible for providing verifiable proof of excused absence by a parent/guardian, as required by the Commonwealth of PA, and will be required to do makeup work when absent from school.

Absence Call In Procedures
Parents are asked to email the Western Montgomery Career & Technology Center’s Attendance Office at attendance@westerncenter.org when their student will be absent, or have their student turn in a physical note within three (3) school days of the absence. If an email or physical note is not received within three (3) days, the absence will be classified as unexcused.
Tardy students must either arrive with an excuse note or have a parent/guardian email attendance @westerncenter.org before the student arrives.
DAYS IN WHICH A STUDENT IS TRUANT OR UNEXCUSED WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF ANY RIGHT TO MAKE UP WORK.
In your email note, please include the following information:
- Student Name
- Date(s) of Absence
- Reason for Absence
